Business Security Information for Countries
in Sub-Saharan Africa
Overview:
Much of Africa is fraught with political, dictatorship, economic
and corruption problems Political instability is perhaps the
primary major factor of the growth of these problems. People
trafficking, drugs, organised crime and the incidence of HIV
are hurdles to overcome.
There are however reasons for optimism, and opportunities to be had. Continental growth is being driven by strong international commodity prices (particularly oil and metals), and in spite of the global slowdown, should be sustained at around at 5.9% in 2009. The continent is largely insulated from declining growth in the US due to a comparatively low share in trade.
