Security Information Service for Business Overseas

Welcome to SISBO

The Security Information Service for Business Overseas (SISBO) exists to enable Government and the private sector to pool their understanding of the overseas business environment.

SISBO is a not-for-profit partnership arrangement facilitated by the Confederation of British Industry (CBI) and the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO). SISBO is based in FCO premises, and there is a designated SISBO Co-ordinator in almost every UK Embassy overseas. SISBO also works closely with UK Trade & Investment (UKTI), and has links to a number of private-sector business associations.

SISBO currently provides three main services:

• This website, as a one-stop shop for commercially-focused briefing on foreign countries, and as a channel to trade officials abroad.
• An email enquiry service for companies currently or potentially operating abroad.
  
• Periodic seminars and conferences on topics of interest to businesses.

The purpose of information provided by SISBO is to help companies form their own judgements about investing or operating in a particular country.
